· Minced Kangaroo???Brisbane, Australia · 10th Jul 2008 · Posted by Annie
Coming from New Zealand where we cherish and protect our treasured national animals like the kiwi, I was rather shocked to see a somewhat large packet of 'minced kangaroo meat' at our local supermarket last Sunday.

I guess kangaroos aren't endangered and protected like kiwis are in New Zealand, but to me it still seems very weird to eat something that you would, under other circumstances, visit at the zoo! I suppose you might, potentially, go to a lamb petting zoo and later on have a nice roast lamb dinner, but still... this just doesn't seem the same to me. I guess I've just been desensitized to eating cute little lambs... (...I say as I start to turn into a vegetarian :|).
I wonder what other national animals are served on a dinner plate around the world?
