About an hour from Brisbane is a really nice area that has a couple of very picturesque towns around the place. The first one we'd been to was Maleny, waaay back in June. Rather than repeat how that day out was you can read about it by going to one of our older posts about Maleny. :)
So, Montville eh? It's packed with tiny shops selling all manner of knick-knacks and local goodies. Most of it is top quality workmanship which makes wandering about the shops a colourful and interesting experience. Wallet getting old? How about a new one made of Stingray skin? Or, even worse ... what if your tea-cosy or doyley is wearing out? No problem! Just head on down to the local napery and score a new set ... haha. Check out some of the wee shops ...

One of the shops in Montville.

Another of the Montville shops ... watch your step!
It was getting on towards late afternoon by the time we arrived and, surprisingly enough, it was actually pretty chilly. Bonus points to Chris for wearing a singlet on a day in the mountains.
We hadn't eaten all day though and after hunting in vain for a nice caesar salad we found that heaps of places had already closed their kitchens. Dang it! What we did manage to find, though, was our first experience of mushy peas ... interesting is all I can say.

Aussie pie and ... mushy peas! Whoever thought our first mushy pea experience would be right here in Aus ...
While at the small cafe that we ended up eating at I managed to snap possibly my favourite colour portrait of Annie. Photogenic ain't she? :)

Possibly my favourite colour portrait of Annie yet. :)
The main street that has all the shops is really nicely decorated the entire way along by perfectly groomed trees and flowers which make the whole town very relaxing. I doubt that anyone could come here and leave stressed.

Montville's main street - very pretty with the trees lining each side.
All in all a very nice day out. If you're ever in this area I can highly recommend a trip to Montville - it's well worth the drive!
