Well, here I am back at home in Melbourne, Australia. I almost completely forgot to write this post which is why it's been so long since the time I got back and the time I'm posting this entry. I'm sure you'll survive though. :)
I took my bike into the shop today and left it with them - I hope they replace the faulty bits so I can go biking on the trails again.
Not a lot to report other than the flight from L.A. to Melbourne is pretty freakin' long - 14 hours. Unfortunately I sat next to 2 people who were ... well ... BIG. Big to the point where they couldn't have the armrests down. No problem for them as they were married but having the woman's thighs pressed against mine for 14 hours was something I could've done without. I don't think I'll be able to hear the word "sweaty" again without thinking back to that flight. Yuck. Still, I managed to get some sleep despite the constantly crying baby a couple rows back. Ahhh flying, gotta love it!
Whistler is sooooooooooooooooo cool though - I want to go back as soon as I possibly can. I'd like to hit the bike park again although the lure of Whistler in winter is pretty hard to resist.
If you're considering going to that part of the world and aren't sure if you should, take my word for it, GO. NOW. It's stunningly beautiful but in a "damn everything here is MASSIVE" kinda way. The mountain ranges in a couple of my previous photos show that pretty well I think.
I've been back for a week now and my shoulder is still pretty screwed but according to the physiotherapist I saw last week there's not a lot I can do other than let it rest. Hope it gets better soon so I can get back on the bike (thankfully I can still use the indoor trainer without too many problems).
So that's that, trip over! Hopefully you've all enjoyed reading these stories about my trip to Whistler and thanks to everyone for your comments - they make blogging worthwhile.
See you all next time.
- Chris, signing off.
