Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock is a towering sandstone formation located in the Northern Territory. It sits in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and is considered sacred by the Aboriginal people of the area. The Pitjantjatjara tribe call it ‘Uluru,’ which is a local family name.


Many Australia holidays aren’t complete without a visit to Ayers Rock. The last formation of an ancient mountain range otherwise worn away, Ayers Rock has many cave sites, waterholes, and fresh water springs. Many tourists visit to climb the rock.
