Ride for the Trees is a 10,000-mile environmental bicycle tour through the Americas to advocate protection for endangered forests worldwide and to raise funds to support conservation work in Paraguay's extremely threatened San Rafael Reserve.

¿Who?: My name is Samuel Hagler. I am a former Peace Corps Volunteer who lived and worked in the heavily deforested Paraguayan Atlantic Forest.

¿Where?: From the San Rafael Reserve in Paraguay, through Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Boat around the Darien Gap, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, to Arizona U.S.A.
¿Why?: Because right now as you read this, Paraguay's Atlantic Forest is being slashed and burned illegally. This virgin jungle has been almost completely deforested; less than 7% remains.
