"Pe Tetaguasu ndaha'ei Nane mba'e; jaiporunte nane membykueragui." "The Earth does not belong to us; we are borrowing it from our children." ------------------------------
¿What?: A 10,000 mile bicycle adventure to raise funds and awareness for the San Rafael Reserve in the Atlantic Forest, Paraguay.
¿Who?: My name is Samuel Hagler. I am a former Peace Corps Volunteer who lived and worked in the heavily deforested Paraguayan Atlantic Forest.
¿When?: Beginning January 2009
¿Where?: From the San Rafael Reserve in Paraguay, through Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Boat around the Darien Gap, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, to Arizona U.S.A.
¿Why?: Because right now as you read this, Paraguay's Atlantic Forest is being slashed and burned illegally. This virgin jungle has been almost completely deforested; less than 7% remains.
